Before you enter
FAQ
The things people ask most. If yours is not here, ask us directly — we would rather answer it than have you guess.
Entry and pricing
How do I enter?
Entries are handled by our registration provider, not on this site. The ENTER button on the event page takes you straight there. One person enters the team and pays for it.
Do I need a full team of four?
Yes — four people per team. It is the whole point of the format: the work is shared and nobody is out there on their own. If you have two or three, Instagram is the best place to put a call out.
How much does it cost?
Between $199 and $259 per team of four. The price steps up as entries fill, not on a date, so entering early is what gets you the lower price.
The registration provider adds a booking fee of $1.00 + 6% at checkout. That is theirs, not ours, and it is on top of the prices above.
When do entries close?
18 October, 7:00am — the morning of the event, an hour before the first wave. In practice the price tiers mean the cheap entries go long before that.
What makes a team Mixed?
Two men and two women. That is the whole rule — a Mixed team is two and two, not any four with a woman in it. Three and one is not a Mixed team. If your four do not split that way, talk to us before you enter and we will tell you where you fit — contact us.
Which category should we enter?
Everyday if you train a few times a week and have not competed before — that is most teams, and it is not a soft option. Advanced if you know your numbers and came to win it. Read the format if you are torn.
What happens if someone in our team drops out?
Get in touch as early as you can and we will sort it out with you — contact us. Substitutions and transfers are handled case by case with the organiser, so do not just turn up a person short without telling anyone.
On the day
What time does it start?
The first wave goes at 8:00am. That is not your start time — teams are set off in waves through the day, and your team gets its own wave time closer to the event. Do not plan your morning around the first wave unless you are in it.
How long will we be there?
Your three zones take twenty minutes each with twenty minutes between them, so the competing part is around two hours. Most teams stay longer than that — the room is the best bit.
Do we need to know the movements in advance?
No. The exact movements and weights are set per event and briefed on the day, so nobody can train a secret advantage into it. Turn up fit and listen to the brief.
Format and scoring
What are the three zones?
Z1 Strength measured in kilograms, Z2 Cardio measured in metres, and Z3 Metcon measured on the clock. Twenty minutes in each. Full detail here.
How does scoring work?
The best team in each zone scores 100 points, and everyone else scores a percentage of that — do 90% of the winning number and you get 90 points. The three zone scores add up, so one bad zone costs you points rather than the whole day.
What if we are terrible at one of the zones?
You will still be fine. Because every zone is scored as a percentage rather than a placing, being outclassed in one zone costs you a slice of that zone, not the competition. Teams win from behind regularly.
Can we see the scores as they happen?
Yes. Every score goes on the big screen as the judge enters it, and on this site at the same time, so your people can follow along from wherever they are.
Spectators
Can people come and watch?
Spectators are welcome and entry is free. No ticket required and no capacity limit. Bring whoever you like — a loud corner genuinely makes a difference in Z3.
