Privacy policy
What we collect, where it goes, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Who we are
Triple Threat is run by Uplift Sports Limited, a New Zealand company. Under the Privacy Act 2020, Uplift is the agency that collects and is responsible for personal information gathered through this website.
The website and the live scoring platform are built and operated by Growth Medium AIon Uplift’s behalf. Growth Medium handles the information only to run these systems for Uplift and does not use it for its own purposes.
What we collect
When you contact us
If you send a message through our contact form, we collect and store:
- Your name and email address
- Your gym or organisation, if you choose to give it
- Your message, and what your enquiry is about
- Which page you sent it from, and the date and time you sent it
We use this only to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list — there isn’t one — and we do not use it for marketing.
When you enter an event
Entries are not taken on this website. The ENTER button sends you to our registration provider, Barefoot Sport, who collect your entry details and payment under their own privacy policy and terms. We receive the resulting team list from them so we can run the competition. If you want to know what they hold, ask them.
When you compete
Competition results are published on this website and kept permanently. That includes your team name, category, gender band, the scores recorded by judges, and — where we hold them — the first names of team members. Results are public and indexed by search engines. This is a normal part of entering a public competition, and it is how competitors find their results afterwards.
If you have a concern about your team’s details being published, get in touch and we will talk it through with you.
When you just browse
We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics (Vercel Web Analytics). This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. What we measure is aggregate: pages viewed, which events people look at, and whether people click through to enter.
To count visitors rather than visits, our analytics provider derives a temporary, anonymous identifier that is discarded and regenerated each day. It is not a cookie, it is not stored on your device, it is never shared with us in a form that identifies you, and it cannot be used to recognise you tomorrow.
Your IP address is used briefly, in memory, to stop the contact form being flooded by bots. It is not stored in our database and is not linked to your message.
Where your information is stored
Being straight about this: our database is hosted by Supabase on Amazon Web Services infrastructure located in Mumbai, India. Enquiries and competition results are held there. The website itself is hosted by Vercel, and notification emails are sent using Resend; both are United States companies and may process data outside New Zealand.
These providers hold the information on our behalf under their contractual terms. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Who can see it
- Uplift Sports Limited, who run Triple Threat and answer your enquiry
- Growth Medium AI, who operate the systems on Uplift’s behalf
- The service providers named above, only to the extent needed to store or deliver it
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. Enquiries are not readable by the public: the website can add a message to the database, but it cannot read any back.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries — kept while we deal with your message and for up to 24 months afterwards, then deleted. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.
- Competition results — kept permanently. They are a public record of the event.
- Analytics — aggregate only, and never identified you in the first place.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Contact us and we will respond as soon as we can, and within 20 working days as the Act requires.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Keeping it safe
Information is held in an access-controlled database. The public website has only the narrow permission it needs — it can record a new enquiry and nothing else. It cannot read, change or delete enquiries, and the contact form is rate limited to prevent abuse.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If something goes wrong that puts your information at serious risk, we will tell you and notify the Privacy Commissioner as the Act requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. This version is dated 5 September 2026.
